				STATUS of MatPy

MatPy is considered alpha software.  Use at your own risk!

The MatPy package contains mostly of Python codes, which is generally
platform independent.  However, its dependency packages, esp Numeric,
Gnuplot, uses various other languages, libraries, and external programs,
which are platform dependent.

Version 0.3.0 tested on Python 1.5.2 and 1.6, on
	Linux (RH6.1)
	Solaris (2.7)
	Windows (NT4.0, 98) with CygWin.

Version 0.3.1 tested on Python 1.5.2, 1.6 and 2.0b1 on
	Linux (RH6.1)

Installation problem on
	HP-UX 11.0:  NumPy and lapack compile problem on my machine (where gcc
				 is not fully functional).
